The hens you are purchasing are our own Golden Buff hens. We raise them here from the day they are hatched. These are seasoned, productive birds that have already excelled in our own pasture-raised, moveable coop system. These hens have been rotated daily through fresh forage, giving them optimal nutrition from a combination of premium feed and diverse pasture plants.
Managed with precision: balanced feed rations are formulated to support high egg output and shell quality; water is filtered and monitored; and pasture rotation is timed for maximum forage regrowth and parasite control. By the time we make them available, these birds have already proven their laying consistency, shell integrity, and adaptability to changing conditions.
The Breed: Golden Buffs are known for their steady production of large brown eggs, and ours have performed under real-world, regenerative farm conditions — a true “field trial” for their genetics and health. We rotate our layers annually to maintain peak production to meet our growing eggs demand, which means you benefit from acquiring robust, well-managed birds with a track record of success.
Bottom Line: For homesteaders or small-scale producers, these hens offer the rare opportunity to start with experienced, pasture-hardened layers that are already in full production — ready to integrate into your flock and deliver eggs immediately. We have families who travel hours to pickup these layers every year.
