We do not raise any "one breed". We blend the best genetics of boars from other farms to bring in the traits we want to see in our sows. All of our sows were born here and selected rigorously for mothering instinct.
Our piglets thrive in an outdoor environment. Our own heritage woodland pork business depends on the foundation of a resilient pig. We are now able to share the benefits of our breeding success with homesteaders throughout Ohio seeking to feed their own families.
All of our piglets will be naturally weaned. In other words, we do not remove piglets from the sow based on an arbitrary timeline. This allows piglets to transition into a feeding program gradually. This is a slower, higher cost process, but it results in a piglet that is resilient in any environment.
